Compare Macrows

Notion, Airtable, or Macrows?

Use Notion for docs. Use Airtable for shared cloud apps. Use Macrows when the work starts as a spreadsheet, needs more structure, and should stay fast, private, local, and portable on your Mac.

Best fit

Pick the tool by the workflow.

This is not a winner-takes-all decision. Most people should move one painful table first, not their entire workspace.

Notion

Docs, notes, wikis, and team knowledge

You mostly need pages, writing, meeting notes, planning docs, lightweight databases, and a shared company knowledge base.

The core job is a fast spreadsheet-like database that should stay local, private, and easy to export.

Airtable

Shared cloud databases and internal apps

You need real-time browser collaboration, forms, portals, interfaces, permissions, reporting, and mature cloud automations.

The work belongs on one Mac first and should not require a workspace, login, or per-seat setup before it is useful.

Macrows

Private spreadsheet databases for Mac

A client list, project tracker, inventory sheet, research table, or CRM spreadsheet has become real business work.

You mainly need docs, public portals, large-team admin controls, or always-on browser collaboration today.

Migration without the drama

Start with one CSV. Keep your old system.

Macrows should make switching feel reversible. You can try it on one table, keep the original tool running, and export again if it does not fit.

  1. Pick one workflow that is painful today, such as leads, clients, projects, inventory, or research.
  2. Export the table or view as CSV from Notion, Airtable, Google Sheets, Excel, or another tool.
  3. Import the CSV into Macrows and clean fields in a familiar sheet-like grid.
  4. Recreate only the useful structure: fields, saved views, linked records, formulas, and row actions.
  5. Keep Notion for docs and Airtable for shared cloud workflows until a specific workflow needs to move.
